🎨 What exactly is PVC?
Think of our PVC as the "superhero" of crafting materials. While it shares a name with the white pipes you see in plumbing, ours is a premium, 1/2" thick solid board. Imagine the sturdy trim on a luxury home—it’s built to brave the world.
Whether it's the salty breeze of a Florida beach or a snowy winter up north, this material stays perfect. Unlike wood, it won't rot or attract bugs; unlike metal, it will never rust. It’s a canvas that refuses to age.
🏆 The Artisan Difference
What makes our work special? Most others use "foam-filled" centers—lightweight but fragile. We use solid, compressed PVC. It’s heavier, sturdier, and resists the scratches and dents of everyday life.
Every piece is a labor of love. We design and cut each sign to order, then hand-sand every edge until it’s smooth as silk. We do the dirty work so your sign arrives ready to shine.
🖌️ Bringing Color to Life
Your sign arrives in a crisp, clean white, but it loves a splash of color!
- The Best Paint: Use an outdoor acrylic paint. No primer or sealer is needed—the material is already waterproof!
- The Technique: A spray can provides the smoothest finish, but a brush works wonders if you apply thin, even coats.
- A Note on Dark Colors: Just like a black shirt gets hot in the sun, dark paint absorbs heat. To prevent warping, we recommend light colors (look for an LRV of 55 or higher). If you have your heart set on a dark shade, ask a paint pro for "Vinyl Safe" paint!
🔨 Hanging Your Masterpiece
To keep your art secure against the wind and rain, we recommend using stainless steel screws (#6 or #8).
- Wood: Screw it directly in!
- Brick or Stone: Use plastic anchors first.
- Important: Please don't trap your sign between a front door and a glass storm door. The glass acts like a magnifying glass, creating a "heat pocket" that can damage the material.
🕳️ What are "Pilot Holes"?
Think of these as your "GPS" for assembly. If you choose this option, we’ll pre-drill tiny guide holes in the best spots.
- Holes: Use the side with the slightly larger openings as your front; they guide your screws perfectly into place.
- No Holes: If you’re a DIY pro and want to choose your own spots, select "no holes" and you can easily drill through the material yourself.
🧼 Keeping it Sparkling
Nature happens! If your sign gets a bit dusty or meets a stray bug, simply spray it down with a garden hose. For a deeper refresh, a soapy sponge and some dish soap will make it look brand new again.
